All configured Batch Historian database locations need to be backed up no less frequently than the Batch Executive is configured to remove the event files. (Refer to the Batch Executive Properties topic for more information) Frequent backups protect the data in the event that there is a failure on the drive where the Batch Historian database resides.
You can configure regularly scheduled backups through the Batch Historian Administrator's Tool using the AutoBackup function. Refer to the Administrator's Tool online help for more information.
Note Once an output database has been configured for the Batch Historian, do not delete any files from the Batch Historian database directories on the hard drive. Only use the Delete function in the Batch Historian Administrator tool. Refer to the Batch Historian Administrator's Tool help for more information on deleting files.
