Device Downloads is an easy-to-use, one-stop source for fieldbus device files for use with the
DeltaV system. In our interoperability test labs, we perform extensive stress testing of specific
fieldbus devices from a wide range of field device manufacturers. As new devices become certified by
the Fieldbus Foundation, we continue to test and to add the device files here for your immediate use.
These device files use EDDL technology.
EDDL technology is used by manufacturers to describe the
functionality and information accessible in their devices. A major benefit of intelligent field
devices is information, and EDDL ensures that device configuration, calibration, and diagnostic
information is presented as intended by the device manufacturer. EDDL has proven its effectiveness in
FOUNDATION fieldbus devices installed worldwide.
Recent enhancements to the already proven DD file technology allow DeltaV system v9.3 users to
interact with their intelligent devices in new ways. Improved data visualization and display
capabilities like waveforms, valve signatures, and charts assist in configuration and management of
complex instruments like radar level gauges, digital valve controllers, and multivariable meters. The
enhancements also support the storage of historical data from field devices for troubleshooting and
diagnostics. As the enhanced DD files become available, you will find them listed here in the
Fieldbus Device Downloads database.
If you're looking for a device that hasn't yet been evaluated, contact the GSC in Manila for
specific assistance or you can obtain the DD/CFF files from the manufacturer or Fieldbus Foundation
website and then add it to the DeltaV system using the Device Add Utility. This is documented in Books
Online. The GSC can be contacted at Phone: (US) 1-800-833-8314 or (International) 1-512-832-3774.
