The DeltaV system makes process automation easy for applications
of any size.
It delivers big savings on automation projects since its
'built for bus' with HART, FOUNDATION fieldbus, AS-i bus,
Profibus DP, and DeviceNet standards enabling quick, easy
calibration, configuration, and diagnostics. Unlike any other
automation system, you have the freedom to choose the best
bus for your application, and have one integrated engineering
environment. All busses are natively integrated. No gateways,
no data mapping, no difficult maintenance and upkeep. The
DeltaV system makes busses easy!
HART. Within the DeltaV system, you can use HART information
in control strategies or to alert an operator of a device
malfunction. Your control system can automatically react to
field device status, reducing process variability and increasing
process availability. Each HART device connected to DeltaV
can present up to four multivariable signals to the system
-- all from a single wire pair and a single device. These
multiple PVs from field devices can reduce your I/O count
and the number of pipe intrusions.
AS-i bus. AS-i bus technology delivers high-speed
discrete device handling. As implemented by the DeltaV system,
you get reduced wiring, and plug-and-play installation of
inexpensive field devices like switches and proximity probes.
Profibus DP. Profibus DP lets you easily connect your
motor starters, drives, and other discrete devices to the
DeltaV system. Although Emerson has not tested these GSD files, we provide this link to Profibus.com for your convenience.
DeviceNet. Like Profibus DP, DeviceNet allows your drives,
motor starters, and other devices fast, easy connection with
the DeltaV system. Although Emerson has not tested these devices for compatibility with the DeltaV system, EDS files from a variety of vendors can be found at the ODVA website.
