You can upgrade to DeltaV v7.4 online from the following DeltaV revisions:
- Version 5.3.2
- Version 6.3.4
- Version 7.1
- Version 7.2
- Version 7.3
For better analysis of your digital plant, the DeltaV Continuous Historian stores the wealth of digital information in your intelligent field devices. The status of a parameter (configured for history collection) is automatically stored along with its value, thereby enabling you to make better decisions in controlling your process. With DeltaV Reporter you can access the status and value through the new Excel-based analysis and reporting tool.
Historical Data Access. Continuing in Emerson’s leading commitment to open, interoperable technologies including HART, FOUNDATION fieldbus, OPC, and XML, the DeltaV software extends interoperability to include an OPC Historical Data Access (OPC HDA) server for use with the DeltaV Continuous Historian. This enables you to use a variety of third-party analysis tools (that support OPC HDA) with our new Historian.
The DeltaV system now has an innovative Chart Builder that enables operators to pull up trends of parameters by just clicking on the data links in the graphic. There’s no browsing required to select the parameters to be trended—just click on the parameters to select them and then launch Process History View. It’s fast—and easy!
DeltaV v7.4 introduces software that makes it easy to share data between the INtools® instrument engineering and design (ppo.intergraph.com/intools) application and the PlantWeb architecture. The DeltaV software and INtools design software version 6.0 share common data structures and seamlessly exchange data using XML and Microsoft .NET technology. This permits the re-use of instrumentation information, reducing engineering effort and speeding up project execution.
Integration Made Easy. This INtools integration covers the complete range of DeltaV I/O data types including:
- I/O card allocations
- I/O channel definitions
- FOUNDATION fieldbus device properties
- Instrument data including ranges, engineering units, instrument tags.
To eliminate VCR limits on your H1 segments, the H1 card supports as many as 35 H1 publisher VCRs and 50 fieldbus device subscriber VCRs per port, as long as the total number of VCRs does not exceed 50. Each port on the H1 card can support a maximum of 50 input links and 35 output links, as long as the total number does not exceed 50 VCRs.
The AMS Inside screens populate much faster, thus saving you time during commissioning and troubleshooting of fieldbus devices.
DeltaV Guardian Support, targeted for release in the fourth quarter of 2005, is a powerful optional enhancement to Emerson’s Foundation Support service offering. Guardian Support is designed to improve control system reliability and reduce maintenance costs. A configurable GuardianPortal dashboard website provides automated, up-to date access to Knowledgebase Articles, Technical Support calls and system lifecycle details. The service provides semi-annual system analysis reports by Emerson DeltaV Service professionals, outlining specific recommendations for your system’s maintenance. GuardianMail automated email notifications can be dispatched in real time. As an element of the DeltaV v7.4 release, it includes a substantially improved Registration Utility. The Emerson Service Management System (SMS) has been updated with new tables, views, and reports to take full advantage of the new registration utility. Stay tuned for more details on this innovative service offering. If you have questions please direct them to Kim VanCamp.
