Ready to try RSS?
Step 1. Use Google Reader
If you don't already use a news reader, go to Google Reader to log in or to set up a Google Account.

Google Reader is free to use. If you have an existing Google Account, simply enter your Email and Password on the fields provided. If you don't have a Google Account yet, you can create one by clicking on the "Create an Account" link and following the instructions.
Step 2. Import the Starter Kit Feeds
To get you started using Google Reader, the RSS-Starter-Kit.opml file has 26 pre-configured feeds. Right-click on the file; save it to your Desktop (be sure to change the Save as type: option to All files so it won't be saved with a .txt extension); then log in to Google Reader.
In Google Reader, click on Settings (on the upper right hand corner), then Import/Export. Browse for the .opml file on your desktop and click on Upload.

It takes a few seconds for the file to be uploaded and processed. Once finished, you will see a screen similar to the one below:

This menu is where you can rearrange and organize your feeds by placing them in different folders. For now, just click on Back to Google Reader to return to the main page.

That's it! The newly imported feeds are now available in the list on the left-hand column. You are now ready to read the feeds and experience the benefits of RSS. To subscribe to new feeds, just click on the Add Subscription button and type in or paste the feed's address.
