How can boiler controls improve our process? Improvements are needed to reduce cost of fuel, stabilize operation, or to comply with tighter regulations. This package helps boilers perform more closely to design specifications and demand requirements, time after time.

How is engineering cost reduced? Because it is preconfigured and well documented, you will spend a lot less time configuring the system. This allows more time for implementing the system and other important activities.

How flexible can control be? Flexibility is included to ensure that your control strategy fits your process requirements. Options are available to provide a burner management system, warm up controls, standby mode, and simulation.

How does it save fuel? Boilers with mechanical jackshaft controls fix the amount of air consumed with fuel. As fuel heating value changes, fuel and air can be properly apportioned which saves fuel. For each 2% reduction in stack oxygen, you could save 1% fuel. On a 100 Kpph steam rated boiler, $20K/year could be saved with natural gas.

How will it reduce upsets? Installing well designed controls will help improve boiler reliability. In many cases if an analog input goes bad, the loop associated with it will go to manual mode. In addition, the system is designed with backup controls on critical loops. For example, failure of the header pressure transmitter will cause the system to switch to a backup strategy using drum pressure. If feedwater or steam flow meters fail, the system will automatically switch to single element control. In addition, the header pressure controls will accommodate any number of boilers in automatic mode by adjusting the demand dynamically so that tuning is linear.

Can it support information needs? Changes in operation and alarms are automatically logged. Data is available real time for other applications using integration technologies to support accounting and compliance requirements.

What is the operator interface? Included are graphic displays for steam header overview (if applicable) and a detailed boiler display with trends, and the required information for operating the unit in a clear and logical way.

What about support? Few operations have the resources and expertise to design, implement startup and maintain a complex boiler system on their own. Our support includes the support of an expert with boiler control to help with the project or guide what needs to be done. As an organization, we offer global support and service with offices in almost every country.
